4 Basics of Eating Local
Updated: Jul 8, 2021
OK maybe there are more than four reasons to eat local, but I'm not here to overwhelm you. SO let's get into it!
It's good for the environment! You can easily lower your carbon footprint by getting foods locally and cutting down the greenhouse gas emissions during transportation.
It helps stimulate the local economy! I think we can all agree that Covid took a huge tole on the small town and it's important to put our money back into our local business especially following a time when businesses weren't allowed to open their doors.
It could be healthier! Produce such as broccoli, green beans, kale, red peppers, tomatoes, apricots and peaches are more likely to lose nutrients when transported from longer distances, so getting them local is better for you! For more information on this click here!
It just tastes better! Ok, this one may just be me being biased but have you had the asparagus from the market? It just hits different. I will not be accepting argument on this until you've tasted it
