Spring Updates  - With warmer weather moving in - in fits and starts, as it seem to do around here - we are starting to get out, perhaps hearing the call of the garden, the parks and the lake, and ... the yard, calling for the first mowing of the season.

In keeping with the spring theme of renewal and regrowth, I'd like to share about a couple of ongoing programs starting we are firing up.

*** We will be a at the Kirksville Farmers Market this season, serving hot brewed coffee and a simple array of baked goods.  As the season progresses, we will expand the menu to include a rotating set of lunch items - let us know what your favorites are, and we will see what we can do. The Market opens May 1st, and we are excited to have a spot to serve you some food, as well as to reconnect and keep you informed of progress as we rebuild.

*** Our Community Dinners are now regular monthly event - we will be serving our Take-away church suppers on the third Tuesday of each month at the First Presbyterian Church in Kirksville.  The next dinner will be this coming Tuesday, May 18th.  The dinners will be served for curb-side pickup from 3:00 - 5:00 pm, and, following our Pay-what-you-can model, will be served at no-cost, with donations gladly accepted.

If you would like to ensure that these free meals are available to all in need, you can contribute here.Come join us at either of the Community Dinners or the Farmers Market.  We are glad to be serving good food to all, and look forward to seeing you!Oh, and ... if you would like to help out by volunteering at our dinners or the market booth, please contact Jeanne at info@takerootkirksville.org
